Tetelestai

Tetelestai is a Biblical term that means "It is Finished"  Also an accounting term from that time meaning "Paid In Full".

Tetelestai is a word Jesus spoke on the cross as He was crucified for our sins.  He completed the work His father in heaven gave him to do on earth.  Jesus fulfilled his mission of taking on our sins and punishment so we could have eternal life.  It is finished - I cannot add to the Grace of God because Jesus did all that was necessary for me to be redeemed and forgiven - in other words, my debt was Paid in Full by His death on the cross.  I am assured of my salvation because Jesus completed - He Finished - the work and sacrifice required by God the Father.  My debt is Paid In Full and so is yours when we repent of our sin and believe in Jesus and His sacrifice.  His bodily resurrection 3 days later proves that Jesus is who he claimed to be - God himself in human form.
